Why I Love the Rainy Season

It just started really raining here again and I couldn’t be happier. Yeah, as a bike commuter it means leaving earlier, and riding through dark, wet streets in piles of rain gear to get to work, but otherwise the rain is awesome. Not only does it make me appreciate the sunny days more, but the rain makes it okay to stay inside and write. Also, nature is just so much more amazing here when it rains a lot.  Here is one of the waterfalls on a walk I do a lot last week:

And here is the same waterfall this weekend after a few days of heavy rain:

I’m going to apply this to writing. Like the flow of water in the creek, my flow of words on paper is going to totally flood the page. It is already happening. I really love this time of year!

What about you? Do you have seasons where you tend to write more? Are you planning on Nanowrimo? What gets you motivated to write? And do you like rain?

    1. Nanowrimo is National Novel Writing Month. You basically write 50,000 words and track your progress on their website and make friends and get motivated ‘cuz everyone is doing it. If you want to write a ton, it’s the thing to do in November.

  1. Autumn is probably my favourite time for creativeness. The colours, the shifting weather and above all a good reason to stay on the warm side of the window 😉 Thanks for your thoughts on waterfalls, very inspiring!
